This post is somehow difficult but exciting for me at the same time. I do feel the need to post about it. So, here goes.. Back when I was a younger, 16 years old I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. It was decided that the baby would be given up for adoption upon her birth. Abortion wasn't an option for me. Now, I don't judge those that have chose this as a option, it just wasn't one for me. There was never a day that went by that I didn't think about how she was, did she go to a good family, was she a happy child, where she was. After many years I began to wonder if she had married, had children, etc. Now, it's 30+ years later and I have all those answers. Yes, that right we reconnected and I've have been talking to her via FB. She turned into a beautiful young lady, was raised by a very loving lady and has 2 beautiful children which of course means I now have 3 DD's, 6 grandbabies and one on the way. She has a masters degree in accounting and lives in eastern KY. where she now teaches a the University where she got her degree. My family thinks she looks just like me. I think she does too only a much much younger version of me. All I can say is I'm a very happy lady right now and my DD's are all thrilled too. So I would like you to meet my newest DD Amy, DGS Trey, DGD erin.

OMG Donna, I am just so thrilled for you all! This is just to wonderful, new life all the way around! She does look like you!

Kathy
I am so happy for you. We helped our adopted daughter find her
ReplyDeletebirth mother about l0 years ago and it was a wonderful time. I had always
thought of her when birthdays, special occasions etc. happened in our lives and I made a collage of pictures from new born (she was ll days old when
she became our daughter) until she was an adult, and had it framed. I gave it to her birth Mother the day I met her. We have such a wonderful
thread binding us together. There can never be too much love in a
person's life. Shirley
I knew Kathy would be all for that road trip! hehe! And I would go too if I lived close enough!

Wow!! Donna, I do not know how I missed this post, but you are truly blessed. What a wonderful thing to happen to you. Sounds like she had a great family, and now it is extended to yours too.
ReplyDeleteWhen some things go away, new things come to you in life, I am so very happy for you.
Oh I missed this! How wonderful. And a new baby on the way too.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful blessings!
No doubt that your daughter turned out so great with her life b/c she was in your constant thoughts and prayers every day! How wonderful for you to gift her with life with another family to raise her... so many feel like they have no choice in those situations and choose abortion then live the rest of their life with a terrible regret. In my 5 years of college I had 4 friends thru the years that confided in me of their abortions and it was heartbreaking to see the pain that they were living with.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that you two found one another - may God continue to bless you both as you get to know one another!
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
