I'm making these Ornaments, they are fairly big, 15". So, they make good place mats, or the can be sewn together to make a wall hanging or table runner. I've got 6 made so far, I'm not sure I like some of the fabric choices, but I try. A quilting friend jbk65 from the HGTV message board board gave me a link to the pattern. Hers turned out so pretty I had to give them a try. I'm making these for the family. Do you think they will like them? I haven't got these sewn together yet I'm waitng until I have more finished to see what looks best together. You can click for a close up view . I appreciate any suggestions as I'm not too good at choose fabrics that look good together.
Very cute. I made an asian table runner with this pattern. You just add the small top to the bottom and you have a chinese lantern.
ReplyDeleteThey are great just the way they are but I might have used solid greens, blues & reds to break up the busy fabric, like you did with top & bottom ones in the top photo.
They are very lovely :))
ReplyDeleteI think these are really cute! (Is there a pattern somewhere?)

I think the fabric looks so cute together...will be a nice table runner. I was thinking they would look good as a candle mat with a nice big candle in the center. Love your last two quilts, they will be beautiful gifts.

BJ, the link to the pattern is the the red letters that say "the pattern" If you click it it should take you right to the pattern.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I think as ornaments they look great. Of course you would have to have a big tree for them. And what's this about picking fabric! That's me , not you!
ReplyDeleteThose are so CUTE!! I think they would be a cute door hanger if you attached them together.

So darling! Thank you for sharing the pattern. I am going to make some as a hanging for my front door for this Christmas. What a great way to use up leftover Christmas fabric.
